Imagine if you can... it was 10:30 a.m., and we were on our way to our first engagement shoot. No GPS, no maps, just a piece of paper and the address. All I can say is, "Thank the lord for moms." We were traveling down the highway, shuffling through crazy ideas in our heads. We discussed where we were going to take them and how we wanted them to be positioned. If you know anything about me, then you know that when I get ideas in my head and I start talking about them while driving, I lose all sense of direction. Hence, we got lost on the way there. That is where, "Thank the lord for moms" comes in. Within three seconds of missing our exit, Miranda had her mom on the phone with specific, easy to follow directions. Ten minutes later we arrived, and were ready to shoot. We stopped inside and chatted for a few seconds while they gathered their stuff. As we arrived at their location we were excited to get started. Their choice of location was beautiful, with plenty of great spots for their photos. The snow was on the ground, great trees all over the place, and... ICE on the cement! Yes... ICE. This might have been fun if we weren't carrying top of the line equipment in our hands. As we shuffled along the ice looking for our shots, I couldn't help but notice how Elizabeth had her arm wrapped tightly around Andrew. He had her body pulled close to his to keep her warm and from falling. After noticing this, I turned around to tell Miranda to look at them. As we both turned to look, we saw feet in the air, and a body laying on the ground. Elizabeth had tried sliding on the ice, but happened to take it too far and ended up falling. Within seconds, we watched Andrew lean over and pick her back up, brush her off, whisper something to her, and give her a kiss. She might have been in pain, but it was all forgotten when she was back in the arms of her loVe.
