Do you remember back when you were in middle school and high school, all your conversations with friends started with, "Man, I can't wait to leave home and get away from this state. It's so boring." I can remember those days like it was yesterday. (Granted, I haven't been out of high school for very long. Therefore it should feel like yesterday.) All we wanted to do was to grow up fast and get away. Now sometimes, I look back and miss those days I had growing up in Iowa. I wish I would have slowed down and actually looked around to soaked it all in. It really is a beautiful place.
